The inhabitants of Mesopotamia left many cuneiform texts inscribed on clay tablets, stone and other materials, which found buried in the archaeological mounds. These texts were divided into literary texts that included (legends, epics, poems, and chants), incantations, exorcisms and political texts (royal letters), and legal texts In addition to others like (the texts of the marriage contract, administrative texts specific to the temple and economic texts). These texts enabled researchers to reveal the spiritual life of Mesopotamia. The texts revealed that adorning the jewelry with multiple purposes, the purpose of which depends on the idea of the writer in the literary text, as it was noted that the jewelry was part of a religious ritual in which it symbolized the priestly rank or religious authority, and at the same time the jewelry was one of the ways of beautification of the bride to celebrate her bride and not There is no doubt that the groom's position affects the size and type of this adornment, or that it was presented as gifts between the lovers, as well as the use of jewelry for linguistic metaphor and simile
