rebellion- Fries- history-AmericaAbstract
Fries rebellion is a regional uprising resumed by the eastern districts of Pennsylvania during 1798-1799, as a result of the mismanagement of the federal governmental administration concerning Alien act and House tax act enacted by the end of 1798.
Fries and his followers led efforts to release the prisoners of Bethlehem in March 1799 . consequently Adam’s administration initiated to suppress the rebellion as soon as possible to restore order and tranquility in the troubled regions .
The most important outcome of this rebellion is that it consolidated the governmental power and caused the Federalists lost the presidential election for the Democratic- republican rivals in 1800 .
