The Third Kingdom of Ur witnessed significant economic growth, especially since it witnessed a tight administrative system, political development, and military expansion, which was greatly reflected in the economic life of the individual and society. Among the most prominent results of the advanced economic system is the expansion of agricultural land, the increase in fields, the expansion of residential homes, and the organization of orchards. This required them to use measuring tools to organize weights, measurements, and areas of various sizes and shapes. It was necessary for them to use basic measurements to meet the urgent need that was consistent with the administrative system and the cuneiform text under study, which represents a survey limit for coating a number of walls with plaster mortar for an important administrative building, likely a temple. The text mentioned several units for measuring area, including the sar, which equals 36m, the ninda, which equals 6m, and the kuš3, which equals 50 cm, All of these were carried out under the supervision and at the expense of the šabra priest.
