This research deals with some names of villages in the rural areas and countryside of Baghdad that have been forgotten since the Abbasid era. It attempts to identify some of the current archaeological sites and mounds in the vicinity of Baghdad and its four directions by referring to cuneiform, Hebrew, and Arabic historical, geographical, and literary texts that sometimes retain the same original form or show a relative similarity or slight modification from the original and ancient form, in order to verify and match them.
