This study examines the Egyptian role in supporting the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO) between 1962 and 1970, by analyzing the colonial background of Mozambique and the early stages of national resistance, followed by an exploration of the political, diplomatic, military, and media support provided by Egypt to the Mozambican revolution. The research demonstrates that Egyptian support was part of a comprehensive strategic vision linking Africa’s liberation to Egypt’s national security. This support significantly enhanced FRELIMO’s regional and international legitimacy and strengthened its capacity to sustain armed struggle against Portuguese colonial rule, despite internal challenges and international pressures.
