This study examines the general conditions in England during the Norman rule from 1066 to 1145, focusing on the political and social transformations that accompanied the rise of the House of Plantagenet to power. The research begins with the origins of the House of Plantagenet, reviewing its familial background and the influence that enabled it to assert control over England. It then moves to the province of Normandy, highlighting its significance as a center of Norman authority and its relations with English territories. The third section investigates the nature of the relationship between the House of Plantagenet and England, emphasizing the methods of governance, integration into English society, and the challenges faced by the family in consolidating its control over the local nobility and the population. Finally, the study addresses the succession of William the Conqueror’s sons and the division of the kingdom, outlining how power was distributed among the heirs, the internal conflicts resulting from this division, and their impact on the stability of Norman rule.
