This study examines the political and leadership role of Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset and Lord Protector, during the early years of the reign of King Edward VI (1547-1549). It aims to analyze his political position within the English state and to explore his role in governing the kingdom during the royal minority. The research also investigates his domestic and foreign policies and their impact on promoting political stability in England. Furthermore, the study highlights his efforts to advance the Protestant Reformation, manage relations with Scotland and France, and address the political and social challenges of the period. The research adopts a historical-analytical approach based on primary sources and modern historical studies. The findings indicate that Edward Seymour was one of the most influential political figures in sixteenth-century England and that his policies contributed to safeguarding the monarchy during a critical transitional period, despite the internal political conflicts that ultimately led to his downfall and execution in 1552.
