Lssues of education attract significant, governmental and societal attention in all countries of the world due to their great importance in state building and in addressing many of the prolems facing the state.
The concept of education is closely linked to the general conditions experienced by the country, therefore, the existence of a comprehensive educational and pedagogical policy aimed at development and societal progress is indispensable. In this context, the parliamentary Committee of Education and Teaching played an important role during the period (2006-2010) in promoting parliamentary attention to educational issues and in contributing to laying the initial foundations for oversight and legislative work in this field . However, the effectiveness of this role remined contingent upon the exetent of the executive authoritys, responsiveness to the committees recommendations, as well as the ability of the parliamentary systeem to provide a supportive environment for the work of specialized committees.
This underscores the need to strengthen mechanisms of follow-up and coordination in order to ensure the achievement of sustainable educational reform.
