Studying influential figures is no less important than studying a particular era or movement. On the contrary, such studies open up new avenues for understanding the state of that era and the impact of all the events the individual witnessed, as a shaper of historical events. Tracing the life, contributions, and intellectual and scientific achievements of this person provides us with a clear picture of the time and place in which they lived. Our study focuses on the concept of historical thought according to Muhammad Hamidullah. He believes that writing Islamic history is not a purely narrative activity, but rather a critical scientific process based on careful examination of sources, deep analysis of events, and linking them to their civilizational, political, and social contexts. Sheikh Muhammad Hamidullah also sees the necessity of studying the personality of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, because of his morals, behavior, and leadership, leading to his approach to managing the state and society.
