This research presents a reflective exploration of the Mesopotamian roots of generosity and courage, considering them as inseparable traits of the Mesopotamian character from the Sumerian period to the contemporary reality. It shows how generosity was deeply connected with religious and social rituals in Sumer, Babylon, and Assyria, as represented in cuneiform texts, legal codes, and moral values, and how it intertwined with courage as the protection of guests and defense of the community. The study further highlights the continuity of these values throughout history in folk traditions and rural elegies, where solidarity and sacrifice are vividly expressed, forming an essential presence in collective memory. The research concludes that generosity and courage were not merely individual virtues, but structural components in the psychological and social formation of Mesopotamia, representing a profound civilizational continuity that reflects the authenticity of Mesopotamian identity and its resilience against hardship and sorrow across history.
