There is no doubt that religion (religious belief), and all that is related to it, is of utmost importance to all ancient and modern peoples, because everything that has an impact on this religious belief has a place and is the focus of many different studies, including historical studies.
In this humble research, we will attempt to shed light on one of the important deities, the god (Dagan in the beliefs of Mesopotamia and ancient Syria, who worshiped and sanctified both ancient civilizations), as well as the search for the roots of the worship of this god, And in the composition of the names of kings and people, and cities in both Mesopotamia and ancient Syria, and the subject of research will be the answer to the importance of this God in both cultures.
