The Great Tell Qirawi and the Small Tell Qirawi are important archaeological sites in the Badra District, reflecting a diverse cultural sequence associated with the nature of human settlement in the eastern borderlands of Mesopotamia. The two tells differ in area and elevation, indicating functional and chronological variations in patterns of occupation and settlement. Surface evidence has revealed the widespread presence of pottery sherds and architectural remains, confirming the representation of multiple historical phases. Their geographical location also demonstrates a direct connection with ancient road systems and watercourses. The significance of the two tells lies in their role as part of a broader settlement system that contributes to understanding the development of human settlement in the region.
